The Women’s Club of Newburgh funds scholarships for area high school graduates seeking higher education. Awards were provided to 3 students of the Class of 2011 based on scholarship, leadership and community service. Pictured above are Jessica Ellsperman and Abby Allen, 2009 recipients. The Women’s Club of Newburgh is proud to announce that it will once again be giving away three $1000.00 scholarships to area High School Students! Scholarships are available to students living in Warrick County. Applications will be available in the guidance offices of Castle High School, Boonville High School, Tecumseh High School, the Signature School, Evansville Day School and Memorial High School. The application is also available upon request by calling 853-2631. Awards will be given to candidates exhibiting excellence in areas including academics, extracurricular participation, work experience, community involvement and character. An essay will be required with the application stating why the candidate believes he or she deserves this scholarship. Applications will be available in January and will be due March 1, 2012. They may be submitted to either the school guidance counselor or by mailing to Newburgh Women’s Club, c/o of Scholarship, P.O. Box 174, Newburgh, IN 47629.
